New York Reviews.

RODARTEWhat can I say? Rodarte stole my heart..again!! The white dresses were exquisite and their detail was so meticulous. I am only angry that I can just look at them from a distance because I can only image the details you could see from up close. Every Rodarte show is amazing to me how they take these strange things and make them beautiful, right down to the shoes. Which are always amazing. Especially at this show where they went as far as to make them light up. The white dresses look magical instead of bridal which can be hard to accomplish. I want to wear one on summer nights and one to a ball..they bring out my inner hippy! Which I'm not quite sure if that's what the Rodarte team had in mind but what else can I do when I see flowy white fabric!
MARC JACOBSIf you haven't guessed by now I'm quite the little hippy child (PEACE, LUV, and fashion). So I'm sure by looking at the yellow floral and flowy blue dresses shown you can tell I was over the moon happy about this collection. I am obsessed with childish, lolita-esque looks; and my god did these do the job. They are girly but not in a pink way, in a childhood style. The yellow dress completely embodies MArc Jacobs perfume, Daisy. While the blue looks like air..not trying to be too dramatic. But I really am over joyous about this collection. It is so perfect for the upcoming weather and has so many pieces that can be taken from night to day!Working Girls! This dress reminds me of the best prom dress you'll ever see. It has some shine and some poof and I am in love. The feminine yet juvenile look is delectable. Siri Tollerod of course rocks it but with mega blond hair which anybody could purchase really keeps things light. Rachel Zoe said she could see all these dresses on the red carpet and I'm really hoping her prediction comes true. I'd love to see Carey Mulligan try one of the looks from this collection because I feel like her choices can tend to age her (for example at the BAFTAS). Her choices are always elegant and beautiful but not always age appropriate. The easy going look of this gown is so natural and works so well.
ADAMThis white dress by Adam was so beautiful. I'm not sure if I could pull it off but I really appreciated its elegance. The whole collection had an earthy feel and when it seems like all the dresses keep getting shorter and shorter it's nice to see something this length be so striking! I loved the choice of shoes and the vest as well. The second I saw this coat I knew I had to have it! At the time of course I couldn't make this reference but now it reminds me of the Burberry Prorsum shearling coats. However this version is less glamorous and more wearable. I think it would be so chic with jeans and flat boots.
HALSTONORANGE you glad Halston got a new designer? Oh my goddd that was so bad..but I'm getting sorta loopy writing all these reviews. Though from what I saw the reviews of this collection weren't stellar I really enjoyed it. This orange dress in particular was really stunning. I love the dropped back and sparkles coming from behind. It seems sexy without Versace Va-Va-Voom appeal. I think it would look really high fashion if paired with maybe a cropped fur. The little military cues this dress seems to have taken look great. The low neck line and shortness of the skirt and super feminine but all the details and color rough it up. This is one thing I loved about the collection, all the dresses that are just ready to go. Truly Ready to Wear! I could just put this on with boots or heels or flats and almost any jacket and I'm sure it would be Alexa Chung cool.

JILL STUARTThat purple dress and the floral sweater and two things I would have NEVER thought to put together but they actually look great! I wonder if you can buy them seperatley? Anyway though the combination was unexpected I really appreciated its originality. Everytime I see a short/tight dress coming down the runway I instantley think Balmain but by adding prints to the purple and a bohemian floral sweater, something I bet we never see on the Balmain runway..it managed to stand out. However even though these two specific looks were enjoyable. They really were the only two to stand out to me from the entire collection.
This blue dress from Jill Stuart reminded me of the midnight blue Alexander Wang dress that Natasha Poly has been seen wearing. (Too specific? She made Vogue's best dressed list with it.) The shoulders and hat reminded me of one of those emotionless London guards but the over the knee boots give it a high fashion feeling.
MARC BY MARC JACOBSMad for Plaid at Marc by Marc Jacobs! I am OBSESSED with the tartan print strapless dress that Jacobs sent down his runway recently accented by zippers. There were so many things about it to love. 1. The zippers! A trend so large it’s truly runway to reality, even being sold in large department stores. The zippers give this potentially country outfit a grunge boost it really needed. 2. It reminds me of McQueen! Just the other day I was looking at the photo of Alexander McQueen and Sarah Jessica Parker and their plaid get ups and was reminiscing on all of his talent! So to see it sort of reincarnated in a simpler more wearable dress made me happy! 3. How many ways can you think to wear this dress? I can already image so many scenarios…with Ann D. boots or a military jacket, or simple blazer, truly endless possibilities! The black dresses at Marc Jacobs were also great even though not so in your face. The one worn by Frida G. was so cute and the mid-calve socks and simple flats reminded me of a very fashionable five year old. But somehow I wasn’t annoyed at the immaturity of it and thought that even the black dress with the big bow managed to be a scene stealer! (Marc by Marc Jacobs AND Marc Jacobs both had amazing shows!)
CHRIS BENZAlthough I enjoyed all the looks in Chris Benz’s most recent collection, I was confused at how they all went together. Sure one or two looks may have shared a color scheme or both included sequins, but other than that I was lost. The first look to catch my eye was the one of the patterned dress with cuffed sleeves and was calve length. The print was so Brady Bunch (which I loved) and the length and sleeves reminded me of a nun’s costume. However it was fitted enough and fashion forward enough to wear because of the brilliant choice of shoes! They gave it a tough edge to keep it from coming off to vintage house wife-y. The blue and green ensemble also caught my eye..maybe because it was so out of place! But aside from that it was a great look. The patterned coat was so interesting, I’m still not sure what to make of it; and the collar of the dress was eye-catching as the sequins became more and more prominent the higher it got. The other look I enjoyed was the orange skirt and reddish sequin turtleneck. It’s fit for the most fashionable school teacher!
ZAC POSENHello Coco! I was surprised to see model turned designer strutting it down Zac Posens runway. However I wasn’t surprised at the feminine frills fit for a figure skater that were sent down the runway. Some looks were too pink for me and although the looks in the photos shown I did like they weren’t anything spectacular or new. They were very classic Zac, and I have to admit I’m one of his biggest fans! The red dress on Vlada was striking! It seemed so pink and feminine but the material and corset top gave it a more mature look. I also was surprised by how much I liked the pink tights with it. The look really reminds me of a sweet strawberry. Stepping over to the dark side the black figure skater costume…or dress…was swingy and party friendly. But on the runway it looked boring. But I am holding out for someone to spice it up with great accessories! Also the black with the floral made Coco’s dress not over the top girly.

Amazing Versace dress

I have a huge obsession with Grecian inspiration. These photos from Alice in Wardrobe Wonderland but originally from W Magazine sparked that back up, so I guess expect quite a few posts coming up with that. The thing about Grecian looks I love is that strength mixed with feminity. Also the beautiful colors and of course and excuse to wear a headband.

he broke his own heart and i watched as he tried to reassemble it.

The Only Exception: ParamoreWhen I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble itAnd my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love
If it does not existMaybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Keep a straight face

Taking it to the Streets (Tommy Ton Pt.2).

I have but one simple question..is there a pair of more brilliant shoes walking the fashionable streets of New York City than these? They combine so many current looks but yet somehow avoid coming off as trend overkill. I am a gal who loves her heels! There's something about them, no matter how tall or glamorous the second they're on my feet I feel like I'm six feet tall and could rock any catwalk...but usually I'm headed to a school dance. Anyway I saw a pair of welllie-inspired boots, that were flat and had yellow rain gear material on the toes. They were by Sperry and I was in love. I wanted to put them on with obnoxiously patterned leggings (maybe i'd raid my kindergarten wardrobe) a big sweater and run around jumping in puddles that could have easily been avoided! But that's just a fantasy of mine! For now, acting my age would be much easier to do with these sophisticated take on...rainboots? Not really quite sure what to label these lovelies but I know I adore them!
