Long and Loose.

It all started at the Resort shows…Alexander Wang sent models down the runway with long, loosely woven braids and then it was a hit again at Miu Miu! The style instantly spoke to me simply because of how perfectly it would let me hide the untamed mass of curls framing my face. Unfortunately my hair just wasn’t quite long enough for a casual braid and it was too layered to stay in place. But then again, the shows were resort and there was until summer to worry about growing my hair out! The look is even more perfect for summer because not only will it keep control of chlorine damaged hair but it finally gives us long locked girls something to do with our hair while swimming! As I sat enviably looking on at the braids and the feel of summer weather they brought I couldn’t help but daydream about spring break and the end of school. It is strange because what is usually thought of as an uptight, juvenile look now brings playful thoughts and looks, which is exactly how this hairstyle should be worn! For days out and about try to keep it simple (like the braid) with white racer back tanks, dark wash cut off shorts, an exotic messenger bag, gold gladiators, and maybe some layered necklaces in all colors! For those summer nights try clean cut white dresses in a light material. However you choose to accessorize the braid remember to keep it adventurous and fun!

If you’re not into the bohemian feel that the long braid brings try another style! Though braids wrapped around the top of your head may feel tired and “milk-maid’ish” breath new life into it this summer by wrapping a colorful ribbon in or pinning the braid back into long wavy hair!
